| This outstanding example was made by a Rogers of Flushing New York who contracted for Army drums during the Civil War. It was used by musician George H. Lewis of Company I, 2nd Vermont Volunteers. Lewis was captured at the first battle of Bull Run then after being paroled served with his regiment through 1864. In February of 1865 he joined Hancock's Veteran Corps as a private and served until 1866. |
